I have not been really all of the conversation threads on this issue. I apologize for that.

My question is this.

Has it been mentioned on the possibility that some subject areas (STM) have a number of OA titles, and that groups of individuals wanting to start an OA journal are seeing their broad subject is (adequately?) covered and have rethought the time and effort involved against the benefits derived from another OA journal?

There may not be any data on this.
