Re: eSerials holdings in Worldcat julie su 14 Jul 2006 20:41 UTC

We have signed up as of yesterday, This is the program which we have been waiting for that enables us to batch attach our holdings to e-journal records with hardly any effort on our part. Our ILL decided not to deflat any titles and will monitor the impact on ILL requests. Ideally when we have time to map the license and restrictions into our ERM system, we should be able to identify the ILL loan policy at the same time, and may choose to selectively deflat certain titles accordingly.

  Hi,

I just received an email about a Serials Solutions/OCLC service that
would display library holdings from aggregated databases in Worldcat.

It says you can control ILL requests automatically. Some of our
licenses allow for ILL and some do not.

I was curious whether any institutions on this list are considering
this, and what they think the benefits will be. It seems to me the
biggest benefit would be providing info for ILL in those cases where the
license allows it.

Thanks,

Jane
