I am doing a very informal survey on copy price. Here at Midwestern
State Univ. we charge 10 cents for copies. We charge the same for
microfiche or paper copies. I am wondering how much copies are at other
libraries. Thanks

We also charge 10 cents for copier and microfiche machines. We do not
charge for copies printed from the computer - our students pay a library
tech fee that covers this costs of these prints.

We charge 5 cents for copies if patrons use cash. Students have the option
of putting money on their student ID card and having the cost deducted
from that. When they do that it is a little cheaper per copy, maybe 3 or 4
cents.

Here the printing and copying system is administered by Academic
Computing, not the library. Printing is 14 cents a copy or 7 cents per
side (2 sided printing is the default). We do not charge for microfilm
printing since the machines are entirely separate.

Sue,

We at Northwestern State U of Louisiana also charge 10 cents for print
copies. However, last year we made the decision that microfiche and
microfilm copies would be free. We did this because it would have been
expensive to add card readers to each reader/printer, and they are not
used too much. Faculty are our biggest users, and the service would be
free to them anyway.

At Boise State University the charges are:

Print from microforms 10 cents
Print from computer simplex 5 cents, duplex 7 cents
Photocopier Cash 10 cents, copycard 6 cents

The charge for printing from computer is set by campus policy, as computer
printing is run through a university wide system.

5 cents for 8-1/2 x 11 (or 14), 10 cents for 11 x 17 or for two-sided
(which our copier can't do most of the time!!) :-)
