Acquisitions and Preservation Services Librarian

 This supervisory position provides leadership and vision for the
Acquisitions and Preservation Unit within the library’s team-based
environment. Responsibilities include overall coordination of acquisitions
and preservation functions and funds, analyses of operations and workflow,
effective use of integrated library system modules, reporting of data and
trends, vendor relations, personnel management and gift programs
management. The position also includes team participation and development
and collection development as a subject bibliographer.

Required: ALA accredited MLS; supervisory experience; capacity for
leadership, including interpersonal and communication skills, commitment
to lifelong learning, and responsiveness to client need; analytical
skills, such as independent problem solving and critical thinking;
quantitative analysis, time management and computer skills; progressively
responsible experience in acquisitions operations; demonstrated experience
working with a bibliographic utility (OCLC) and with acquisitions modules
of an integrated library system; knowledge of current trends and issues in
acquisitions, conservation and preservation; demonstrated commitment to
excellent customer services. Preferred: demonstrated and current
professional development; experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc.
integrated library system (Millennium preferred); experience with
collection development

Salary and Benefits: Minimum salary is $42,000. Excellent benefits
package.

Location: Old Dominion University is a state-supported institution with
