We’re having problems with bar code wands reading barcodes incorrectly
into the Aleph item record. Randomly, a digit is skipped (could be
anywhere in the bar code number, so checking beginning or ending numbers
won’t work) or even more oddly, a digit may be changed. That means we
can’t even count digits, we have to literally look at each digit and
compare it to the actual bar code. Alternately, we can do nothing (just
send it through) and expect labeling or circulation to report a problem
to us later.

I was wondering if any one out there is using a more reliable bar code
reader and, if so, sharing the make and model.

Thanks!
