Joyner Library, East Carolina University (ECU) seeks a librarian to fill a one-year fixed term faculty position. The position will focus on maintaining accurate information about electronic subscriptions, serial subscription packages, license negotiations, and other complex serial/databases acquisitions, including holdings, title changes, and renewals. Specific duties will include populating and implementing a new electronic resources management system and a link resolver and gathering and analyzing database usage statistics. Other duties may be assigned. The Fixed Term Electronic Resources Librarian will report to the Collection Management Librarian. Required Qualifications: Master's degree or international equivalent in library or information science; familiarity with online databases and journal packages; knowledge of vendors of these products; excellent computer skills including spreadsheet proficiency; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; evidence of skill in coordinating projects and attention to detail; ability to work as a member of a team. Candidates with Master's degree completed by 7/1/2007 will also be considered for this position Preferred Qualifications: Experience with database licenses; experience with electronic resources management systems and link resolvers; previous academic library work; knowledge of or coursework in serials management.
