Hi Andree,

I have a copy of an email I received in February 2006. I don't know if any of them are still around. Hope it helps.

Folks,

Someone called me today to ask about vendors/back issue dealers. Here's
a summary of the ones I use. Contact me off-list if you would like more
information (listed alphabetically):

Absolute Backorder: Located: in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Sending them
Back Issues: If you send them a list and they pre-approve it, they will
send you a check for shipping costs once the issues arrive at their end.
Special Feature: East Coast Exchange -- if you send them your back
issues, you can join the East Coast Exchange and order issues from them
at a reduced cost. Website: http://www.absolute-inc.com/_/ <https://www.mail.uidaho.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.absolute-inc.com/_/>

EBSCO: Missing Issues Copy Bank located in Birmingham, AL. Sending them
Back Issues: If you send them issues from their MCB list and you use
them as a vendor, they will send you a check for shipping costs at the
end of each quarter.

Periodicals Service Company (PSC): located in Germantown, New York.
Sending them Back Issues: Usually, they will request issues from you,
but you can send them lists for them to pre-approve and they will send
you a check or stamps for shipping costs once the issues arrive at their
end. Sometimes, they will offer more than just shipping. Website:
http://www.periodicals.com <https://www.mail.uidaho.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.periodicals.com>

USBE: located in Cleveland, Ohio. Sending them Back Issues: If you send
them a list and they pre-approve it, they will credit your account for
shipping costs once the issues arrive at their end and you can use that
credit to order issues from them. Website: http://www.usbe.com <https://www.mail.uidaho.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.usbe.com>

These are the only dealers that I deal with on a regular basis. I have
had good luck and good responses from all of these vendors and would
wholeheartedly recommend them to others. If anyone has any other dealers
that they use frequently, please let us know. Someone asked me about
EduCo, but I know nothing about them as a dealer.

Subject: [SERIALST] jobbers who buy old volumes of periodicals

Hello,

I have a retired faculty member who wants a place for his back runs of
engineering journals. We're going to take missing issues, but not more than
a few.

I used to have a list of companies who were interested in buying old serial
runs, but I can't find it.

Does anyone know of any such organizations?

Thanks in advance
