Are you thinking of launching a digitization project? Or, if you are well
into one, would you like to identify ways to make it move forward in a
more
efficient manner? In this program, a team of UMBC librarians will share
how
their staff has incorporated the use of partnerships and collaboration
throughout their digital collections workflow. Tips for achieving
collaboration, identifying potential partnerships and best practices for
digitization, and metadata issues and evaluation are among the topics to
be
covered. Attendees will also tour the UMBC Albin O. Kuhn Library &
Gallery.
A special showing of the print and digitized photographs from The Lewis
Hine
Collection containing socially important images of child labor will be
included in the tour.

This program has been approved for 4.5 hours of continuing education.

A buffet lunch with a vegan option is included. Directions to UMBC are
available at http://www.umbc.edu/aboutumbc/directions.php.

All vehicles require a parking permit which will be provided at no cost to
attendees. To get a parking permit for the event, contact Michelle
Flinchbaugh, flinchba@umbc.edu. Please indicate if handicap access is
needed. Parking permits will be mailed along with a campus parking map.
