Re: How to correct an nsdp serial bib record? Reynolds, Regina 19 Dec 2011 20:44 UTC

Hi Patricia,

Sometimes the U.S. ISSN Center (formerly called NSDP) receives incorrect information about a title being ceased.

If you send scans of the front matter (cover, title pages, copyright page, masthead) from the issue following the one we said was the last, plus a similar scan of the front matter from the most recent issue, we can open and update the record.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Subject: [SERIALST] How to correct an nsdp serial bib record?

I have a serial title for which I found a bib record in WorldCat, but the record is closed out, saying that the title “Ceased with issue of July 1984.” I have issues continuing from that date all the way through 2008 (with some gaps), all with the same title and publisher.

The bib record is # 9201709 with ISSN 0746-1194, and has 042 pcc ǂa nsdp.
I don’t think just sending some scanned copies of the issues to OCLC will suffice to get the record changed. Am I right? How do I correct it?
