Evening activities at the NASIG conference publicist 12 Apr 2012 13:03 UTC

Registration is well under way for the annual conference in
Nashville, June 7-10th. Wondering how you'll spend your
evenings after a stimulating day of program sessions?

Thursday evening from 1-7 visit the vendor expo to learn
about the latest products and services in the field, then
mingle with other conference attendees at a reception from
5-7 at the hotel before the opening session.

Friday evening you will catch a bus downtown to a reception
at the famous Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, with
an opportunity to browse their interactive displays and
collections of costumes, musical instruments, and artifacts
(including one of Elvis Presley's cars) tracing the origins
and evolution of country music. Buses will circulate between
the hotel and the museum, the last departing the museum for
the hotel at 10 p.m.

Saturday evening is yours to explore on your own. The
Conference Planning Committee has prepared a spreadsheet of
dining suggestions on the Explore Nashville page
(http://www.nasig.org/conference_city_info.cfm) that can be
sorted by neighborhood, type of cuisine, etc. Some of the
venues are on the hotel shuttle route so you can be dropped
off and picked up in between airport runs by calling the
hotel's phone number. There are also handouts with maps of
different neighborhoods around town with restaurants listed
on them. Interested in checking out the honky tonks of Lower
Broadway and mingling with country music fans in town for
Country Music Fest? Head back downtown to Broadway and 2nd
Ave. Want to check out the university restaurant scene?
Check out the Belmont/Vanderbilt area. Demonbreun venues are
near the recording studios of Music Row. The Gulch is a new
hip urban development with condos and shops not far from
downtown. Reservations in advance for the restaurant of your
choice are highly recommended! Don't wait till you get to
Nashville to make your plans. Interested in getting a group
together to venture out? Send a message to NASIG-L. Have you
opted out of NASIG-L and want to resubscribe for the next
few months? Contact ecc@nasig.org for assistance.

Interested in a performance of the Grand Ole Opry or a
General Jackson dinner cruise and show, with pickup at the
hotel? See the Tours page
(http://www.nasig.org/conference_tours.cfm) for more
information.

Is shopping your thing? Visit the newly reopened Opry Mills
Mall (coupon book in your conference packet) or upscale
Green Hills Mall to check out what Nashville has to offer.

Later Saturday, head back to the hotel for open mic night
beginning at 9. Don't forget to bring your instrument and
join in the fun!

Don't miss out! Early registration closes on May 4th.

Looking forward to seeing you in Nashville!
