The Macalester College Library facilitates access via a pay-per-view
(PPV) model allowing instant desktop delivery to articles and book
chapters from Elsevier publications in ScienceDirect and from a
variety of publishers in IngentaConnect. Purchased articles/book
chapters can be downloaded and stored locally for future use. Each
full-text document downloaded deducts the article fees from the funds
we have put on our account with the vendor. We have also paid for a
set amount of article "tokens" with the American Chemical Society.
Access is restricted to faculty, with unique usernames and passwords
for each department. Faculty can download articles for students if
they so choose. We encourage the use of interlibrary loan whenever
possible.
