Location for the organizational meeting of the ALCTS Electronic
Publishing Discussion Group is the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, Alamo
Room.  This meeting immediately follows the meeting of the
LITA/ALCTS Serials Automation Interest Group, which is scheduled
from 9:30-11:00 in the same location.

For those of you who have not read about this new discussion group,

ALCTS TO ASSESS ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING DISCUSSION GROUP NEED

     The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services
(ALCTS) will assess the need for an Electronic Publishing
Discussion Group at a meeting on Sunday, January 26, 1992, from
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., during the American Library Association
(ALA) Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio....

     The new group would provide a forum for discussion of
collecting, acquiring, cataloging, storing, distributing and
archiving information in electronic format.

     The agenda for the organization meeting will include
discussion about the need for and the purpose of the group, how it
would differ from other ALCTS discussion groups, the process for
petitioning ALCTS to formally recognize the group and possible
topics for future meetings.
