Subject:      Distributing subscription lists to Academic Departments

         Our library is on the NOTIS.  Our systems staff generates a list
         of all open order titles including gifts etc that are acquired
         for each department on campus. This process is possible because
         of a special program set up for our requirements. Latest pay
         statements are also included for paid subscriptions.

         We generally avoid splitting costs between departments. It
         works well only, if vendors comply. We have tried with Faxon,
         and almost inevitably we have had problems.  With tape load
         invoicing, the process is getting more difficult. In a few
         cases though, if we have to, we have intervened and posted
         it manually.
