Subject: Call for nominations (LITA/ALCTS Serials Automation IG)

This message has been cross posted to several listservs.

The LITA/ALCTS Serials Automation Interest Group seeks nominations for
the positions of Vice-Chair/Chair Elect and Secretary for the coming
year. First established in 1985, the purpose of this IG is to discuss
the application of computers to the control of serials in libraries,
specifically their acquisition, bibliographic control, and inventory
control.

The Vice-Chair/Chair Elect will assist with program planning for the
1994 MidWinter and Annual meetings. The Secretary is responsible for
meeting publicity and attendance recording.

Recently, the Serials Automation IG has sponsored discussions concerning
repetitive stress injuries and ergonomics, the running of multiple
automated systems, and the processing and cataloging of electronic
serials.

If you are interested in either position, please respond to me (not the
list) before June 18.
