I am responding from a theological library with 1750 current subscription
titles and serving about 50 professors.  Each September we send a form to
each faculty member asking if they wish to take advantage of our Table-of-
Contents service (TOCS) for up to five titles.  We flag
the check-in card for titles requested with the professor's name.  When an
issue is received it is tagged with a TOCS label and the prof's name; the
pages are photocopied and sent by interoffice mail.  We find this is not
a burdensome task, and the profs who request the service are very apprecia-
