                              DIRECTOR OF SERIALS

    The Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library is
    seeking a Direct or of Serials.  Reporting to the Assistant
    Executive Director (Collections & Technical Services), the
    Director is responsible for directing and evaluating all serials
    activities including serials selection, acquisitions, processing
    and binding, and for supervising a staff of 3.5 FTE.

    REQUIREMENTS:  An MLS from an ALA-accredited library school is
    required as well as three years of technical services experience,
    including processing.  Two years of supervisory experience is
    required, as is one year of experience with an automated serials
    control system.  Membership in the MLA Academy of Health
    Information Professionals is preferred.

    HAM-TMC LIBRARY:  The HAM-TMC Library is a private consortium
    library serving 23 institutions in the Texas Medical Center
    including 2 medical schools, 3 nursing schools, 2 allied health
    schools and numerous institutes and hospitals.  The Library has a
    staff of 22 faculty and 57 support staff.

    SALARY & BENEFITS:  A highly competitive salary will be offered
    that is commensurate with experience.  Benefits include
    medical/dental/life insurance; TIAA-CREF Retirement plan in which
    the Library contributes 8.5%; and 24 paid vacation days per year.
