We have been retaining this title on microfiche for the last couple of
years--the micropublisher has just used the numbering of the paper
original. We have not tried to correct. I know this is the lazy
coward's way out, but I considered us lucky with this one.

We used the second possibility that Jennifer mentions, we use the
year in the call number on the spine label.

We, too, were concerned about the high probability of mis-
shelving by continuing to use volume numbers on on spine labels, and
the best solution we could find was to stop using them. This was
done about a year ago, and (so far) we haven't heard about any
problems with it from either the shelving staff or the patrons.

The last volume that we called by volume numbers was the 1992
one. We called the next one 1993 Jan.-June, thus making our labels
change on a complete volume. I think the printing we had the
bindery put on the spine might say v.100 Jan.-Apr. & v.57 May-June,
but I don't remember for sure.
