**KEVIN, A FEW TIDBITS FROM BUFFALO BELOW.

***YOU CAN JUST SAY v.107 (1986). UNLESS WE LACKED PART OF V.106 OR 108
WE WOULD COMPRESS TOTALLY. OR GO TO USING THE ISSUE NO. TOO. EX:
v.107:no.1 (1986:Jan.7)-v.107:no.26 (1986:June 29)
**WE WOULD NEVER USE YOUR OPTION 1. USING THE HYPHEN AS YOU HAVE GOES AGAINST
OUR INTERPRETATION OF THE "BALANCE" PHILOSOPHY OF THE STANDARD. IF YOU USE
A HYPHEN YOU MUST HAVE THE SAME SET OF ELEMENTS ON THE LEFT AS ON THE RIGHT.
IN THIS CASE, YOU HAVE ENUM AND CHRON ON THE LEFT, BUT ONLY CHRON ON THE
RIGHT.

> or v.1 (1993/1994)

**WE HAVE USED YOUR THIRD OPTION, BUT YOUR SECOND OPTION IS CORRECT TOO.
I THINK THIS QUESTION IS ONE WHERE THERE ARE A NUMBER OF DIFFERING POINTS
OF VIEW. SOME MIGHT SAY THAT v.1 (1993) is correct, or v.1 (1994) is.

>3. Are microform holdings entered the same as for hardcopy--that is,

>reel:
> v.1:no.1-6 (1993:Jan.-June)
> or v.1:no.1/6 (1993:Jan./June)

**WE WOULD PROBABLY USE v.1:no.1 (1993)-v.1:no.6 (1993:June) ONCE THE WHOLE
VOL IS REC'D WE'D COMPRESS TO v.1 (1993). I GUESS WE HAVEN'T THOUGHT OF THE
REEL AS A DIFFERENT TYPE OF PACKAGING, BUT BASED OUR STATEMENTS ON HOW THE
ORIGINAL PAPER WOULD LOOK. I SUPPOSE YOUR 2ND OPTION IS CORRECT (OR AT
LEAST ACCEPTABLE)
