We at El Paso Public Library are in the process of re-bidding our serials
list. The question has come up: How do our periodicals titles compare
numerically with other large public libraries. We have 1,086 titles
and many more subscriptions, the bulk for the downtown library and a core
list of popular titles for branches.

Could you large P.L.'s help me by giving me some numbers:

1.) the number of titles on your periodical list.

2.) the number of subscriptions to the list by downtown and branches.

3.) a dollar figure you spend on your periodicals list.

4.) a dollar figure spent for entire collection budget.

5. Do you subscribe to any electronic periodicals (full text?), and if
so what effect will this have on your paper lists?

I would be glad to summarize results to the list if you will send
responses to me directly at Jimbo@Laguna.Epcc.Edu. 915-543-5473.
Fax 915-543-5410.
