Subject: Format Integration Talk on Fileserver and Web

Jean Hirons' talk, "Format Integration and Its Impact on Serials," was
originally presented at the ALCTS Serials Cataloging Institute in San
Francisco on Oct. 7, 1995. The text of the talk was forwarded to
SERIALST by Mitch Turitz, with Jean's permission, on Oct. 19, 1995.

Jean has also given permission for us to make this document more easily
accessible by mounting it on SERIALST's fileserver and the "Tools For
Serials Catalogers" World Wide Web page, which Ann Ercelawn --
Associate Moderator of SERIALST -- maintains at Vanderbilt University.

To retrieve a copy of this document, through the fileserver, issue a
one line e-mail message to: listserv@uvmvm.uvm.edu that reads:

                   GET SERIALS FI9510

To view or retrieve a copy of this document via the World
Wide Web, point your Web browser at URL:

The document, "Format Integration for Printed Serials" by Crystal
Graham (posted to SERIALST on Feb. 8, 1995) is also (i.e., still)
retrievable from SERIALST's fileserver, however the filename has been
extended (i.e., changed) to indicate content, as well as date:

To retrieve a copy of this file, issue a one line e-mail message
to: listserv@uvmvm.uvm.edu that reads:

                GET SERIALS FI9502

Note that this document is also available on the World Wide Web server
at UCSD at the URL:

    http://tpot.ucsd.edu/Cataloging/Current/serialschanges.html

You may also retrieve a copy of the SERIALST filelist to review the index, or
list of files available on the server by issuing an e-mail request to:
listserv@uvmvm.uvm.edu

                 INDEX SERIALST [or]
                 GET SERIALST FILELIST

(these commands are synonymous and either of them will get the
    same results)

Finally, the SERIALST Scope and Purpose statement, which has been
available on the World Wide Web since August, has recently been updated to
reflect the new fileserver information, as well as new statistical data
regarding SERIALST's subscribership. You can view the most current
information about SERIALST on the Web at:
