Bulletin of Hispanic Studies Kevin M. Randall 20 May 1996 22:32 UTC

Well, we received the Glasgow edition of BULLETIN OF HISPANIC STUDIES
v.73:no.1 today. We had received the Liverpool edition in Mar. As someone
noted earlier, they have the same ISSN. (They are nearly identical in
appearance on the cover, except the colors are reversed, there are different
publisher names, and the title area has a slightly different shape.)

Where are we to go with this? My instinct would be to treat the Glasgow
edition as the "new" journal, regardless of its legal status as the "true"
Bulletin. (And the Liverpool edition will--probably--soon cease publication
and the record can then be closed out.) It seems the old ISSN should stay
with the Liverpool edition, and the Glasgow edition should receive a new ISSN.

Any comments from an ISSN official?
