In addition to checking once a month, have your check-in person 'flag' a
card that needs claiming attention.  You can purchase little color flags
that slide on the card, but paper clips work well too.  Then your claimer
can look for the 'flags' and know that these need attention.  Good luck!

Liz:

   One thing I used was:  I don't know how your kardex check-in cards
are, but ours had the month at the bottom where you could see what
month it was without lifting up the individual cards, so I got hold of
some red colored plastic clips and everytime I checked-in an issue I would
move the clip to whatever month the next issue was due in.  That way
you could look down an entire drawer and tell at a glance what was overdue.
Whenever I claimed an title I would indicate it with a blue clip.
