I have tried to subscribe to the Gifts & Exchanges List with the
address given yesterday on SERIALST but have been unsuccessful. The
message comes back that Giftex-l does not exist. Is there an error
in the listserv address (listserv@ukcc.uky.edu)?

Thank you for your help.

Subject: GIFTEX-L - Where has it gone?

After posting a reference and address to GIFTEX-L, the Gifts
and Exchange forum, on SERIALST yesterday, I received some
follow-up messages saying that the listserv address wasn't
working. So, I checked the server at @UKCC.UKY.EDU and
found that there were no longer *ANY* lists hosted there.
I then checked the server address for @LSV.UKY.EDU and
found several lists -- however, GIFTEX-L was not among them.
I then tried to contact the postmaster at UKY to find out if
s/he had any insights as to the whereabouts of GIFTEX-L, but
the postmaster hasn't responded to my e-mail of yesterday.

I had confirmed the GIFTEX-L address and received the permission
of its owner (James Burgett) to cite it in March or April of this
year, when the backexch.html web site was being developed. However,
from what I could gather, after perusing the listings at UKY yesterday,
GIFTEX-L has disappeared!? -- or disappeared from UKY, anyway?

Does anyone on SERIALST know if GIFTEX-L is still in existence,
or where it may have moved to??

Solutions to this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
