North American Serials Interest Group's (NASIG) new WWW site Maggie Rioux 03 May 1996 20:27 UTC
The North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG) proudly announces the birth of NASIGWeb - the new NASIG site on the World-Wide Web. The URL for the new site is http://nasig.ils.unc.edu NASIG is an independent organization promoting communication and sharing of ideas among all members of the serials chain - anyone working with or concerned about serial publications. Each June NASIG holds an annual conference on a different college or university campus in North America. The program includes formal papers, panels, workshops, tours and nightly social events. The conference proceedings are published annually and are available both electronically (to NASIG members only) and in print. Furthermore, in keeping with NASIG's strong commitment to continuing education for serialists, several continuing education workshops or seminars are offered each year. NASIG also maintains liaison arrangements with other organizations which have an interest in serials. The 1996 Annual Conference will be held at the University of New Mexico June 20-23. A link to the latest information about this conference will be found on the NASIGWeb site. NASIGWeb came online in early April. In it you'll find items such as an online membership brochure, lists of committee and board members, citations for the published Conference Proceedings volumes and links to other Web sites of interest to serialists, as well as a link to information about the 1996 NASIG Conference at the University of New Mexico. Some areas of the Web site are limited by copyright terms to NASIG members and require a password for access. New links and items will continue to be added to NASIGWeb, including the NASIG 2000 Strategic Plan and a directory of NASIG members' talents and services. You are invited to set links to to the NASIGWeb page from your own serials- or library-related home page and bookmarks from your personal browser.
