The Association of Research LIbraries honored prof. Henry Barschall in
1990 for his work in analyzing the cost-effectiveness of scientific
journals using citation impact factors.

Readers may be interested in the description by S. J. Bensman of how he
tested and rejected citation impact factors as measures of scientific

There was a lot of moral support for the impact factor a few years ago. Is
anyone aware of other tests or uses?
