Nan,

We have all of our periodicals in an "open" arrangement in alphabetical
order. We put the abstracts, such as Physics Abstracts, with the bound
volumes. We have always had open stacks for the bound and most of the
current titles. There will always be the problem of vandalism, I'm
afraid, with any type of open stack arrangement.
