Andrew,

Don't know about the rest of you, but I find that a sharp jerk will
disengage the green strip from my hand and land it somewhere near the
wastebasket (usually).  Sort of like trying to shake water off your hand,
only maybe a little harder.  Just be careful that you don't hit the edge of
your desk in the process!!
