     Do you or your colleagues refer people to the SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX?

     Does your library subscribe to or use the SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX
published by the H.W.Wilson Company (in either print, Wilsondisc,
Wilsonline, WilsonWeb, OCLC/FirstSearch, tapeload for a mainframe, or
formatted by a value added provider)?  Or do you subscribe to or use SOCIAL
SCIENCES ABSTRACTS in any of those formats?

     If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should be on
the look out for a survey that was mailed from the H.W.Wilson Company on
98/03/10, signed by ALA's "Committee On Wilson Indexes."

     This four-page survey dated MARCH 1998 is due back in the hands of
the H.W.Wilson Company by APRIL 7th.

     As one of the members of that Committee, I want you to know that this
survey is conducted approximately ONCE every five years, and your input on
this survey is very valuable towards shaping the role of what journals go
into future issues of SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX and SOCIAL SCIENCES ABSTRACTS!

     If you subscribe to this periodical index in any form (paper or
electronic), please be on the lookout for this survey/voting list.  If you
do not receive a copy of this survey by March 20th, then please contact
the H.W.Wilson Company and ask that they send you a copy of the VOTING
LIST for the SOCIAL SCIENCES INDEX:
