LIBRARIAN, CHECKIN UNIT, SERIAL RECORDS SECTION
GS-1410-9, Salary:  $33,650

DESCRIPTION:  This position is to assist the Head, Checkin Unit, Serial Records Section, with various serial receipt processing and management activities.  The duties include assisting in the oversight of receipt processing for serials, claiming activities and the creation and maintenance of publication patterns for checkin; assisting with review and quality control functions to ensure the accuracy of acquisitions and holdings data; assisting in training staff in acquisitions/receiving functions; participating in various technical processing and special projects which may include report preparation; and performing other duties as assigned.  The National Library of Medicine has recently implemented the VOYAGER integrated library system for serials control.
