Probably the most current book on serials management /control is
MANAGMENT OF SERIALS IN LIBRARIES (1998) by Thomas Nisonger. Two
chapters of the book are dedicated to collection management. It
does not cover cataloging, but considers just about every other
aspect of serials management , including application of many of the
latest technologies.

While you are at the NASIG website, be sure to print out a membership
form! The dues are inexpensive, and you gain access to a wonderful
archive of electronic publication, such as past conference
proceedings, that can be very helpful!

I'd second the recommendations for the Tuttle book, also.

(DISCLAIMER: I was a (very minor) contributor to Marcia's book, and
used to work with all its authors. I belong to NASIG, and help with
the newsletter. But I still think these are valuable resources.)
