We use a binding program supplied by our bindery. It is not linked to our
automated system. From using it, a couple of factors to examine would be:
ease of return to a serial record when binding multiple volumes at a time
(can you press one key to return to the previously used record or do you
have to research which is a great time waster?) and can you easily repeat
monographic info when doing multiple volumes or copies of a monograph?
Can you input your call number for them to put on the volume - and double
check the format! Are you printing a slip for them (we both print a slip
and send a disk) - on plain paper or using a tractor feed form (plain paper
is much easier!)? Can you print a sorted list of your entire binding
shipment - subdivided by serials and monographs? This is very helpful to
check that you received every thing back from the bindery. Hope this is
helpful. Nancy
