Sure, but it's listed as having a simple flexible mount, not a turret. Not sure what you mean by "electromechanical tracking," whether you mean power training or an actual targeting system. Hydraulic and electrical mounts add a surprising amount of weight, and it hasn't dropped much from TL 6 to TL 7+/8.

Hi All,

Remember that built at TL6 does not necessarily mean *designed* at TL6.  We are still building aircraft using techniques half a century old in brand new designs and once a technology is understood, there will be someone wanting to reproduce the effects as cheaply as possible (sometimes called "accountants" or "shareholders" ;-) ), so there is nothing to say that there isn't a simple electromechanical tracking system built into the rear turret.

If you look at some of the modern cockpit equipment being shoehorned into old aircraft because it drastically improves the safety, there's absolutely no reason something similar to the A1 Skyraider couldn't be fitted with an automated rear turret... although most modern avionics use microprocessors and are probably a little beyond most TL6 worlds (although isn't that the average rather than the max tech available in everything that can be produced locally?), there will be ways to reproduce the effects with older methods and once the knowledge that it can be done is out there...

Just my 0.02Cr...

Subject: [TML] MT COACC crew station

Hello all,

Does anyone know where to find the details for the crew station in MT COACC?

I'm getting around to entering the MT Consolidated Errata by Donald McKinney which has uncovered a question about the specifications for the Nuremberg (TL6) Attack Aircraft on p. 25.

The Nuremberg's Accommodation specification is Crew = 1 (Pilot) while the Offensive specification lists two fixed firing forward light machineguns and two light machineguns in a flexible mount firing rearwards.

The type of cockpit being used has been identified most of the aircraft has identified in the Accommodation section, the Nuremberg does not list any thing other than the crew.

My review of the design process indicates that the pilot is probably in a complex cockpit. With the rearward firing light machineguns my guess is the second crew member is in a crew station, since the individual would not be in a position to fly the aircraft.

How far off the mark am I?
