Hello all,

I'm going through the Design Section and I've run into another snag.

Per MT Referee's Manual page 88 determining Passive Energy Scan specification is a three step process.

Step 1. Determine the Passive EMS and/or Neutrino sensor's passive scan ability using the Passive EMS Table and/or Neutrino Sensors Table.

There are two tables the Passive EMS table uses the sensors range band and Neutrino table uses the minimum magnitude of the sensor. Cross referencing the range band or magnitude provides the scan ability provided the design has either or both systems.

Step 2: Computer the following:

(Passive EMS or Laser Sensor, or Radar Direction Finder + Neutrino)/2

The values for Passive EMS and Neutrino are determined in Step 1.

I'm not sure of how to determine the laser sensor or radar direction finder values. I've done a search of my MT Referee's Manual PDF and MT Consolidated Errata PDF without success.

I'm thinking, since I've failed to dig up information in either the MT Referee's Manual or MT Consolidated Errata v2.21, that the radar direction finder would use the radar system's range band and the laser sensor uses the LADAR system's range. The range band would be cross referenced on the Passive EMS Table.

Can anyone confirm if I'm on the right track?

Step 3. Cross reference the result from Step 2 on the Passive Energy Scan Ability to determine the Difficulty of detecting a contact.
