Yes, there are some things that could be looked at. That might be a good community project for us here or maybe on COTI or somewhere.

I think I recall that in some system somewhere (God knows where) there was a ringworld (ring there, not finished) and somewhere else there was a partial or full Dyson's sphere around a sun.

The Judge's Guild magazine, Pegasus, published an "alternative universe" version of the Gateway/Maranantha-Alkahest Sector.  There was a Mary-Sue Dyson sphere in there ("The hidden world of Sobregol" where the average IQ is 160!).  IIRC, the size might have been "X", or an asterisk - the arithmetic progression of the usual UWP size score would not have handled a Dyson sphere.  Population used the usual logarithmic scale.  TL was J.  All this from a very foggy recollection ...
