I've got the archive (91 MBs). I'll see about a) checking some of it to see how the contents look and b) getting you a link to where you can pull it.

Should have that before the end of the weekend.

No luck. It kicks back on TML2001A/TMLDIG.610. The online preview doesn't support .NNN (can't recognize it as text I guess) so I can't even see what might be in it.

Give me a day or two - I've got an Ubuntu box and I'll see if I can pull it with that.

I'm creating an .MBOX with 60K messages from 2006 to 2019. I've set it to break into 4Gb files just in case there are any file size limits on systems people might want to use. Not sure how big it will end up being yet.

That’s absolutely a false positive; the TML never allowed attachments, and the zip file is nothing but compressed plain text copies of tml digests.

Also, that system is my desktop at work and is up-to-date with Sophos Security endpoint which doesn’t flag it, and here at home ClamXAv thinks it’s ok, too.

Weird.  Here’s a link to it in Dropbox…maybe Avast will like it now? I can unzip it and save it as a .tgz file too..

The MBOX file link would be greatly appreciated.

Bruce,

When I tried to pull from the zip link, Avast shut down the transfer. It identified a JS:Nimda[Trj]

I'm not sure, but it may be some kind of VBA or Javascript thing... it does seem to get identified by multiple engines.

It may be in an attachment to one of the emails in the .zip.

Also, I am in the process of sending certain tags out to .MBOX format from Google Mail (so I can de-data Google...). If you'd like an .MBOX file with the list traffic from 2006 late year until now, I can give you that in an .MBOX file. (A download link in case anyone else wants it).

That would be really really nice to have a copy of.

I have a copy of the list archives from the beginning to ~2002 here: http://dbdev2.pharmacy.arizona.edu/archives/TML_archives.html

The entire archive can be downloaded here http://dbdev2.pharmacy.arizona.edu/archives/TML_Archives/Tml.zip

Thanks.

With this, I have determined that I have an archive of tml messages from the new list starting in 2012 and back to 2006 at travellercentral.com. 2006 to mid-August 2007 I was on digests, but after that, its single messages.

I see our current list's archives extend to 2007. Is there anywhere that this Traveller central traffic lives? Should there be?

Ironically, I saw a posting from 2007 on Alderson Disks/Discs.... clearly the wheel turns but just ends up at the same place ;)

I just sent a private msg w/ the raw data from a TML msg from MAR2012 when the TML was at travellercentral.com (xxxxxx@travellercentral.com).

As I recall, Jon, who ran the site, wanted to retire that server which meant the TML had to move.

I also recall that he was in declining health.

Anybody know how he's doing?

I hope he's OK.

For some reasons, though I could be mistaken, I think this list may have moved list-servers some time in the last decade.

a) Do I recall that correctly?
b) If so, does anyone have the email address that the older list traffic would have originated from?

I'm getting ready to extract most of my mail from the auspices of the Googles, so getting all the bits I want to save seems prudent.

Lastly, is there an online mailing list archive that is searchable?

Thanks,
TomB
