I can only assume that the Business Round Table managed to buy a
(National Party) government, because nobody else here would contemplate
such a thing.

What really makes it hard is that so many times the Pres here in the USA has only been able to ascend cuz' of 'crisis' of one sort or another.
FDR - too bad the crippled old git got polio but him & his party just don't have what it takes anyway.

Nixon - got beat by JFK for pres & then by PBrown for gov of CA. He's done.
