Here’s the Kamikaze drone. It should be smaller than I can get it in COACC to increase loiter time, but hay, can’t have everything.

The Hawk class is a loitering munition, more commonly known as a suicide or kamikaze drone, capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations. Manufactures by Flag Bearer Industries (FBI) of Riftgate to allow for a loitering munition capability for the Home County (Riftgate) Army COACC.

FBI licensed the NHR 120 Robot brain to allow for autonomous operation to its design and to aid in forward observing tasks. The Hawk is designed to aid in the suppression of enemy air defences through loitering over the area of operations, identifying enemy air defence installation or mobile batteries though it’s radar direction finder and enhanced imagining capability and engage by self-destructing into them. Targets, which can include enemy armour as well as those that may have limited timescales to engage, can be selected either autonomously by the Hawk itself or by remote operator. Multiple target acquisition is possible and target designations can be fed back to the operators for engagement by other precision strike drones such as the Ensign class or by artillery bombardment, while the operator choses the highest value target or most prevalent operational threat for the Hawk to engage, or the Hawk can autonomously select a target to engage from pre-prepared priority lists.

The Hawk is designed to minimize it’s radar signature to avoid detection, and operational tactics usually involve working in combination with a decoy drone. The decoy drone is flow into the area of operations to activate enemy air defences that are then picked up by the Hawk through it’s radar detection systems and further though it’s image enhancement sensors in the event that enemy radar is shut down. The Hawk then flies into the enemy air defence system destroying both the air defence system and itself at the same time. In the even that there are no targets of opportunity the Hawk will fly itself back to base for re-fuelling and re-tasking.

Best regards,

Ewan
