I found on YouTube a 'straight to VHS' sci-fi film from 1987 called 'Beyond the Rising Moon'. The plot, which is much better than the acting or special effects, involves a race to find a crashed Ancients starship and the potential wealth of technology it contains.

The female protagonist falls into the interesting category as well, being a biological construct created as the 'perfect espionage agent'. There are also some 'Travelleresque' moments involving debt collectors...
