Heck, at least Phil Connors only repeated Groundhog Day about 13000 times.  I think reliving the same span of time millions of times over (especially when one keeps running into the millions of past and future iterations of one's self) would have to be its own special layer of hell.

I already had concerns about the mental stability of this closed, in-bred society, given likely links between intelligence and a number of mental illnesses.  Something like the "immortal time-looper" scheme would surely drive them all completely insane.

Which is _much_ more interesting as a Traveller scenario!
