FYI

For those who were concerned on my behalf about putting classic Traveller conversions of characters and tasks into See How They Run and Two Days on Carsten, you were right.  I had overstepped the mark.  I've now heard from Marc and Mongoose, who were supportive of the idea, but unfortunately the TAS community content strictures are quite tight where it comes to selling things for money and setting a precedent presented difficulties.

So after the weekend, when I'm back on my home computer with the files, I'll be removing the classic Traveller conversion page from both adventures and won't be putting it into Eve of Rebellion (well, alright, I'll be removing it from the file I currently have nearly ready to go!). I could send them to somewhere like Freelance Traveller, however,  if Jeff would like them.

I may not bother actually doing the conversions for any subsequent books unless anyone tells me they actually find them useful.  They're a bit of work (SHTR took a day or so as there was a lot of psionic stuff which is treated differently), but I'd have thought any referee worth their salt could translate characters into the system they use in their sleep.

Meanwhile, please can I apologize publicly to Marc and Matthew for overstepping the boundaries and thank them for being so gracious, and can I thank those who (very gently) took me aside and warned me so that I didn't  get into trouble.  I think you all know that I'm a long term Traveller fan who wouldn't want to cause any difficulties for the game. I'm posting this in case it helps anyone thinking of doing something similar.

On an exciting semi-related note I've seen a 'final' version of The Traveller Bibliography 3rd edition from BITS and am hopeful it will see light of day this weekend!  Yay!
