Senior Serials Librarian - Pius XII Memorial Library, Saint Louis
University

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit Institution dedicated to
education, research and healthcare,
invites applications for the position of Senior Serials Librarian, Pius
XII Memorial Library.

Duties:
Under direction, plan and supervise services of serials unit, including
ordering, receiving and claiming of
all library serial materials and for providing service for current
periodicals and microform collections in a
serials public services area. Coordinate unit functions and supervise
unit staff to provide effective access
to serial collections in print and electronic formats.  Monitor workflow
and provide staff training. Oversee
serials control, including check-in, claiming, and database maintenance.
The position reports to the
Assistant University Librarian for Technical Services.

Environment:
Saint Louis University is a member of MOBIUS, a statewide academic
library resource sharing
consortium that currently includes the libraries of the four University
of Missouri System campuses,
Washington University, and fifty other Missouri academic and research
libraries.  The position manages
the Serials Unit within a collaborative and productive Technical
Services Department.  Strong support
and expectation for professional development and growth.

Requirements:
ALA-accredited MLS. Previous serials experience, preferably in an
academic library. Demonstrated
successful supervisory, planning, and project management experience.
Record of service orientation.
 Experience with automated library systems, particularly serials and
acquisitions modules.   Excellent
interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate.
Excellent oral and written communication
skills.  Ability and motivation for continuous professional development
and for growth as a faculty
member.  Ability to meet deadlines and to work productively in an
environment of rapid development and
change.

Rank/Grade:
Non-tenure track Associate Professor or Full Professor rank, 12-month
annual schedule.

Salary:
Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.  Associate
Professor: minimum $43,000;
Professor: minimum $50,000.  Attractive benefits including retirement

remission, vacation, and development support.
