Re: Archival Access to Online Purchases Matt Person 11 Mar 2005 14:24 UTC

Our online titles go into 3 catagories:

1- The online title is purchased outright ; We consider in general that
when this title is cancelled we will have archival access to the years
we paid for.

2- The online title comes free with the print title; We expect in
general that when this title is cancelled we do not receive archival access.

3- The online title is purchased in combination with the print title;
We handle these on a case by case basis, according to the publisher's rules.

Always check the website for the particular journal, as many now have
free archival access after a year or so.

When you cancel an online title and expect your access to be gone, well,
it is often graced 3 months - and then it can take upwards of a day, or
one year or so for your access to be removed. We remove the title from
our catalog if we are not subscribing to it or are not due access (even
if we still have access) because you never know when the light goes on
at publisher X, and they update their access files.

Good luck,
Matt
