Re: Do you still keep subscription of microfilms of New York Times and Wall Street J. ? Stokes, Judith 15 Nov 2006 17:04 UTC

When they say "complete coverage," just ask "complete coverage of what?"
Proquest was honest about it when we asked about our local newspaper --
our online subscription to the Providence Journal has complete coverage
of everything the ProJo forwards to Proquest for the digital version --
which means some articles are never even indexed so we don't know they
are omitted until we get a citation we cannot fill online (which does
happen several times a year). On the other hand, our microfilm
subscription includes complete coverage of everything that was printed
in the edition they filmed.

Good luck!

A few people asked about how to get full text access to WSJ and NYT.

We have some full text access to Wall Street Journal Eastern Edition in
ABI/INFORM.

We also have some full text access to New York Times in Infotrac Custom
Newspapers and
Lexis Nexis Academic.
