Registration open--seats are limited!:

Technology with a Face: High Tech Meets
High Touch is the theme for the 2007
LACUNY Institute to be held on Friday, May 18,
2007 at Baruch College, the City
  University of New York.

As librarians, we have historically prided
  ourselves on our face-to-face relations
with patrons. As we adapt to new and
  diverse students: net gens, adult
  learners, international students, etc.,
our emerging challenge has been to
maintain this personal touch in the
  increasingly technocentric academic
library environment. How can we creatively
apply new technologies to better connect
with user research needs and foster
  information literacy?

  Speakers include: Steven Bell (Temple
University), Nancy Foster & David Lindahl
  (University of Rochester),
  Kornelia Tancheva (Cornell University),
  Susan McGlamery (OCLC Questionpoint)and
  Ralph Vacca (Kognito)
