*Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian* *Assistant Head of Resource Development Department* *Florida** International University*** The Green Library of Florida International University is seeking an energetic, service-oriented Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian who will also serve as the Assistant Head of the Resource Development Department. *Description*: Assumes overall responsibility and provides leadership for the acquisition and management of serials in all formats (library resources budget, currently $5.6M). Collaborates with the Head of Resource Development and the Associate Director for Collection Management on strategic planning; accounting; budget analysis; licensing; relations with vendors and consortia; and records management, including the creation and maintenance of a central repository (Verde) of information on electronic resources. Collaborates with the Head of Cataloging and with the Electronic Information Services Librarian to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of online resources. Serves as a member of the library's Collection Management Committee and as one of two representatives of the university on the Electronic Resources Subcommittee of the Collections Planning Committee of the Florida Consortium of State University Libraries. *Required Qualifications*: * ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library or Information Science * Experience with electronic resources and serials management * Experience with an integrated library management system (FIU has Aleph) * Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills * Strong computer and other technology skills * Knowledge of current issues and trends in serials management and scholarly publishing. *Rank/Salary*: Non-tenured faculty status; $40,000-$55,000; rank and salary are competitive based on qualifications and experience. * Benefits: *22 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, TIAA/CREF or other retirement options, health/life insurance options, no state or local income tax.
