Thomas Jefferson University, a health sciences university, invites
applications and nominations for the position of Electronic Resources
Librarian. The Electronic Resources Librarian ensures local and remote
access to electronic resources to TJU faculty, staff and students. Reporting
to the Director, Collection Management, the Electronic Resources Librarian
is a key member of the department and supervises 3.5 FTEs. He/she also
serves on the Library's management team.

The Electronic Resources Librarian maintains and updates electronic resource
holdings using Serials Solutions or a similar electronic resource management
system (ERMS), a proxy server and customized vendor interfaces. He/she will
need to effectively troubleshoot access and content-related issues with
aggregators, vendors and publishers. Additionally, the Electronic Resources
Librarian oversees the Library's document delivery services.

Qualifications: Masters degree from an ALA-accredited institution. Three to
five years academic library experience in a professional position working in
electronic resources and/or serials management required. Strong knowledge of
link resolver technology (preferably Serials Solutions) and relational
databases a must. Understanding of scholarly publishing, copyright and
electronic resource licensing desirable. Must have an understanding of
COUNTER compliant usage statistics, be familiar with digital library tools
and standards (XML, HTML, OpenURL, DOI, RSS, Library 2.0, etc.), and have an
understanding of open access and open source related issues.

Solid experience independently supervising a library service/function
required. Experience working on projects and teams will be expected.
Effective oral and written communication skills necessary. Must have a
strong commitment to service.

Scott Memorial Library is a unit of Academic & Instructional Support &
Resources (AISR), which is focused on the development and transmission of
knowledge resources for the university and its hospitals. AISR develops
educational software, manages three public access computer labs, media
