Two New Periodicals in De Gruyter’s Humanities Lineup: The Journal of
Contemporary Drama in English and the Open-Access Sociocultural
Pragmatics: An International Journal of Spanish Linguistics

Berlin, 8 August 2012 – De Gruyter has strengthened its international
humanities portfolio with two new journals. The Journal of Contemporary
Drama in English is the official publication of The German Society for
Contemporary Theatre and Drama in English (CDE). It is an international
and interdisciplinary forum for outstanding scholarship on modern
English-language theater arts. The biannual, peer-reviewed journal
publishes close readings of plays with analysis of their history,
politics, form, theory, and method. The journal also includes a book
series. The first two titles, to be published in 2013, are Elżbieta
Baraniecka’s Sublime Drama: British Theatre of the 1990s and Clara
Escoda Agustí’s Collapse as Resistance in Martin Crimp’s Theatre.

Sociocultural Pragmatics: An International Journal of Spanish
Linguistics is an open-access publication created to disseminate
scholarship in theoretical and applied pragmatics, with a special focus
on the social and cultural aspects of Spanish. Starting this fall,
Sociocultural Pragmatics will appear biannually via De Gruyter Online.
The journal is supported by the EDICE (Estudios sobre el Discurso de la
Cortesía en Español), an international research project headquartered in
Sweden. All the project’s studies will be digitally accessible without
restriction, though De Gruyter will also provide print versions to
libraries that desire bound copies.

“These two new periodicals – one in English literature and the other in
Romance studies – are a very welcome addition to De Gruyter’s portfolio
and will cement its leading position as an international publishing
partner in linguistics and literature studies,” says Dr Anke Beck, Vice
President of Publishing at De Gruyter. “Professional editors, the
in-house digital platform De Gruyter Online, and our liberal open-access
policy convinced the founders of these journals to publish their superb
scholarship through De Gruyter.”

look back on a history spanning over 260 years. The publishing group
with headquarters in Berlin and Boston annually publishes over 800 new
titles in the humanities, medicine, science and law and approx. 500
journals and digital media.

Announcement: Springer Releases its Journals Price List Bulletin for 2013

As of today, the Springer 2013 Journal Subscription Prices are available

Top journals from Adis

Following the acquisition of the Pharma Marketing and Publishing
Services* division (MPS) from Wolters Kluwer earlier his year, we are
including the Adis journals in the 2013 Journals Price List. Adis
publishes 25 highly-regarded scientific journals and newsletters
specializing in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. The journals offer
independent, high-quality content with enviable impact factors and cover
the following areas: drug development, pharmacoeconomics, drug safety,
medical biotechnology and disease management.

The flagship title Drugs, with an impact factor of 4.226, has been the
definitive journal of drugs and therapeutics for over 40 years.
Other key titles include Sports Medicine, impact factor 5.155; and
Clinical Pharmacokinetics, impact factor 5.398.

As of 2013, the discounted tiered pricing, introduced before Springer
acquired Adis, will be brought back to a single institutional
subscription list price, in line with the pricing policies for the other
2100+ journals published by Springer. In case you have any questions or
would like to know more about the Adis products, please don't hesitate
to contact your Springer sales representative.

Additional top titles moving to Springer include:

International Review of Intellectual Property and Competition Law, The
International Sports Law Journal, Computational Methods and Function
Theory, METRON, and Welding in the World.

Please visit for an overview of all transfer
titles. Additional transfer titles will be posted to the
Forget- Me-Not page and announced in our serials updates. Next to the
transferring journals, Springer is launching 36 new journals, including
new titles from BioMed Central and SpringerOpen. You can find them
marked 'New start 2013' in the price list and on

Springer Open Choice

Following Springer's commitment to reflect the Open Choice uptake in
journal subscription prices, we will adjust the prices of 75 journals in
2013. A careful assessment of the open access uptake per journal has
resulted in 75 journals with a significant share of paid open access
articles 2011. These journals will have their 2013 price reduced
according to the share of paid open access articles.
The general price increase will be applied to these journals in a
regular manner.

More e-only Titles

Most of our journals are available in both print and electronic. In
2013 an additional 18 titles have been migrated to e-only publication.
Springer now offers more than 150 e-only titles. You can find the
availability of all journals clearly identified on the Journals Price List.
