TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT THE GOLDA MEIR LIBRARY, UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is a major metropolitan university offering 17 Ph.D.'s and 45 Master's degrees, and serving over 25,000 students. The campus is located on Milwaukee's tree-shaded residential east side bordering Lake Michigan. The Golda Meir Library is a modern, centralized library housing over 4.2 million bibliographic items as well as the 1 million item American Geographical Society Collection. The materials budget exceeds $2.4 million/year. CATALOGER (Music Emphasis) Under the direction of the Head of Cataloging, responsible for original and copy cataloging of scores, sound recordings, and music monographs in English and foreign languages; for the cataloging of the library's computer files and kits; and for training of staff in these areas. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited graduate library degree; knowledge of music; working knowledge of one or more foreign languages; knowledge of AACR2, LC classification and subject headings; experience with OCLC and with automated library systems, preferably NOTIS. Desirable: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. MONOGRAPHS CATALOGER Under the direction of the Head of Cataloging, responsible for original and copy cataloging of monographs in English and foreign languages and for coordinating authority control activities. including name, series and subject authorities. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited graduate library degree; working knowledge of foreign languages, preferably Slavic. Knowledge of AACR2, LC classification and subject headings; experience with OCLC and with automated library systems, preferably NOTIS. Desirable: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. SALARY: $25,578 minimum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
