     The Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) has an opening for the
     position of OCLC Services Coordinator.  This high-visibility position
     provides member libraries with training and consultation on the use
     of the OCLC system.  In addition, coordinators travel extensively
     throughout the southeast to conduct continuing education workshops.
     They also provide first-line telephone support for over 740 member
     libraries in the southeast and the Caribbean, answering questions in
     a variety of library automation and technology areas, particularly
     in telecommunications, hardware and software, and OCLC system usage
     issues.

     Requirements for the position include: ALA-accredited MLS  and 1-2
     years library experience (preferred) or four-year college degree with
     equivalent library experience, preferably in technical services or
     library automation.  Familiarity with OCLC MARC formats, LCSH, Dewey,
     AACR2 and LC classification preferred.  Previous experience with DOS,
     Windows, Internet, telecommunications, microcomputers, word processing
     online, and LANs required.  Training or public speaking experience and
     ability to manage extensive travel schedule (about 30%) required.

     Beginning salary range: high 20's-low 30's; generous benefits package.
