Thank you. ************************************************************ Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located ninety minutes from the Baltimore/Washington area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history of tradition and is located on a 220-acres campus with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students. _________________________________________________________ Information Resources Selection Team Collections and Cataloguing The Division of Information Resources, computer and library specialists working in tandem at our modern Musselman Library, operates under a highly innovative team structure to provide the most advanced information possible. Of the six self-managed work teams within the division, the Selection Team is responsible for developing and maintaining an appropriate collection of information resources through selection, acquisitions, and cataloguing of content materials, information services, hardware and software. Collection Development: This team member will develop and administer collection development through the use of approval plan(s), in cooperation and assistance of faculty and other Information Resources selectors. Experience in approval plans and/or other creative, collaborative projects with vendors and publishers is preferred. Cataloguing: This team member will plan and implement policies and procedures for the creation, maintenance and quality control of the library's bibliographic database. Experience in cataloguing serials, database maintenance, OCLC software, working with Innovative Interfaces Inc. software and outsourcing efforts is preferred. Qualifications: A Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library program and professional experience in an academic library are required. Special consideration will be given to those who have experience in a liberal arts setting. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, written and verbal communication abilities. Experience with budget preparation and maintenance, project management and contract negotiation is desired.
